US military semiautomatic rifle manufactured circa 1955. Features parkerized finish, wood stock & hand guards, 24" barrel, adjustable sights with protected front blade & protected rear peep, fixed magazine for en-bloc clip, manual safety. Bore is good to very good condition with light frosting, sharp rifling. Metal parts retain 90% finish, brownish or greenish hued on receiver & op rod,
medium gray on barrel & gas system parts, slight amount of bare metal showing on sharp edges. Wood is very good condition, with dents & nicks, small chips out of toe, some color mismatch on handguards,
slightly semi-gloss appearing finish, retains "P" mark on front of grip, crossed cannons and "SA / HG" in box on left under rear sight. No importer marks observed. Most observed parts marked "SA", with "WRA" marked
trigger housing. "SA" marked barrel dated 4-53. Includes dark brown leather two-hook sling, M5A1 bayonet marked (US), German made scabbard.
