US military semiautomatic rifle manufactured circa 1943. Features parkerized finish, wood stock & hand guards, 24" barrel,
adjustable sights with protected front blade & protected rear peep, fixed magazine for en-bloc clip, manual safety.
Bore is good condition, mostly bright, lightly frosted throughout, strong rifling, some small pits near muzzle.
Metal parts retain 80% finish, different shades and tones on different parts, bare metal showing on sharp edges,
gas cylinder shows rough surface under a thinning finish. Wood is good serviceable condition, with dents & nicks,
military type finish, retains "P" mark on grip & faded cartouche (maybe eagle & stars in box) on left behind wrist.
No importer marks observed. All observed parts marked "SA". "SA" marked barrel dated 11-51. Includes green cotton web sling,
fair condition "UC US" marked M1 bayonet with scabbard.
