Rebuilt U.S. Military clip-fed semi-automatic service rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield, manufactured circa 1955.
Features a parkerized finish, 24" barrel dated “2 55", shrouded blade front sight, fully-adjustable rear aperture sight, smooth trigger, stamped trigger guard, manual safety, bayonet lug, piling swivel, smooth walnut handguards and semi-pistol grip shoulder stock with trapdoor metal buttplate. The marker code “SA” is found on many of the components including the bolt, barrel, trigger housing, hammer and safety.
The stock is marked with a ½” boxed [three stars]/[eagle] Department of Defense Acceptance Stamp and circled “P”. The barrel, receiver, bolt and stock ferrule exhibit an even dark brown/black patina with some bright wear on/from the moving parts. Other components such as the operating rod, trigger housing and the handguard ferrule bear a light green parkerized finish with 90%+ coverage. Action is smooth, the bore is bright with some scattered light pitting, the markings are clear and the walnut stocks are good with many blemishes.
